The Magic of Ultra Violet

Greetings Earthlings!!! 

You may be aware that, every year, Pantone chooses one color to showcase for that year. Last year, they chose a gorgeous fresh green color called Greenery. This year, the color is Ultra Violet! 

This has become a big deal in the realms of fashion, home decor and design. But, the other day, I was thinking to myself, "Self, how can I use the Pantone color of the year in my Magical and Spiritual practices?"

While ultra violet light, technically, can't be seen with the naked eye, the shade of purple Pantone chose is a beautiful, vibrant purple hue. There are about a thousand and one ways to incorporate purple into Magic, but I wanted to talk about some of the ways I'll be using it, this year!

The color purple is associate with the following correspondences:
·        Element of Air
·        Planet Jupiter
·        Crown Chakra
·        East
·        Number 7
·        Amethyst
·        Tarot: the chariot and fours
·        Mental issues, illnesses and addictions

The Crown Chakra is considered our spiritual center, and houses our connection with the Divine. I started working with my Crown Chakra at the very end of 2017, completely unaware that the color of the year for 2018 was going to correspond perfectly with the work I was already doing.


Purple can be used in any workings which use or relate to psychic abilities, such as scrying, divination, cartomancy, etc… You can light a purple candle during a Tarot session, or use a purple pouch for a dream sachet if you want to have prophetic dreams.

Look at the color purple. What emotions do you feel? Where do you feel them? How will you try to work with the color of the year in your Magical practice? I am going to make a conscious effort to incorporate the color purple into my life this year. I will try to wear more purple, use purple crystals and surround myself with the color. I don't think I'll be painting my walls purple, but I will be adding pops of purple here and there. I may get a piece of pretty purple fabric to put on my desk, which is where I do my Tarot readings, writing and even apply my makeup. Why not invite some inspiring energy into a creative space? I'll also be collecting purple candles to light when I'm reading Tarot and Oracle cards.  I'm usually drawn to certain colors for my clothing, but I'll make more of a concerted effort to wear purple more often. 

I'm really excited about this color of the year, as I know I can definitely use some more creativity, intuition and Magic in my life! I'm going to enjoy working with the energy of this color and I look forward to seeing where it will take me!!

Unveilining the Mystery of Pagan Veiling

Greetings Earthlings! What do you do when the Goddess leaves a trail of bread crumbs? You follow it, of course! Blissfully unaware of the path that is unfurling before you, you connect each dot, not realizing the picture you are drawing. Tarot Tuesday: Those Damn Court Cards
